Thanks to Thomas Edison's sending a couple of his recording whizzes round to Alfred Tennyson's home in 1890, you and I can actually listen to the voice of the great Victorian Poet Laureate himself.
So enjoy (as I did immensely) hearing the rhythm of one of the world's most famous poems, The Charge of the Light Brigade, as intended by its creator.
