I recently called a friend who had borrowed a couple of my books and, though several months had flown by, had failed to return them. I heard a couple of rings before this recorded message came on the line:"Hello. I'm sorry but I am not available to take your call right now, but thank you for caring enough to call. The fact is that I am making some changes in my life these days.
Please leave a message after the beep and I'll get back to you soon.
Of course, if I do not return your call, well then, I guess you are one of the changes."
(Okay, so this didn't really happen. But I thought you might get a smile out of it.)
