"The Supremacists" by Phyliss Schlafly

When House Majority Leader Tom DeLay says judges who legalize abortion and prohibit prayer in schools are out of control, liberals call him radical and revolutionary. In fact, when DeLay opposes judges superseding the rule of law, he is simply echoing certain political principles once forcefully expressed by George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and nearly all of the other founding fathers. This is one of the timely arguments made by one of the most capable and far-seeing conservatives, Phyliss Schlafly, in her new book, The Supremacists: The Tyranny of Judges and How To Stop It.

The Supremacists begins with a survey of the last half-century of “judicial legislation.” Mrs. Schlafly reveals the astonishing scope of judicial ambition. Indeed, without any constitutional mandate whatsoever, judges have banned the public recognition of God, redefined marriage, undermined national sovereignty, released a flood of pornography, institutionalized feminist dogma, and handicapped law enforcement. Schlafly assures her readers, however, that the Constitution is most clearly on the side of democracy. And her book provides all the tools necessary (if only we’ll use them!) to help rescue America from the tyranny of black-robed bullies.
