No, this isn't a literary post exactly but I did think it appropriate to make a quick note here to explain my absence from The Book Den for a bit. Beginning tomorrow morning, I'll be away from the computer and unable to contribute posts. Indeed, I'll be in the beleaguered nation of Belarus where such things as internet connections are almost as rare as political and religious freedom. (To understand more of that simile, you can read the latest U.S. State Department Human Rights Report on Belarus here.)
My purposes there are to teach at a Bible college during the day and speak at a variety of venues (schools, youth groups, medical workers, churches, conversations in homes and coffee shops) during the evenings and weekends. It will be my 9th journey into Belarus. For the most part, my activities will occur in Minsk, the city of some 1.6 million people which is the capitol. I would appreciate most deeply any prayers lifted in my behalf as would the citizens of that troubled nation. Thank you.
The Lord willing, I'll be back around the 25th of March. Blog you then!
