Chuck Colson and The Point Have a Reading Challenge for You

Chuck Colson and his team of bloggers over at The Point team are inviting you to join them in a special summer reading regimen. And, let's face it, aside from maybe the Notting Hill Napoleons themselves, a better gang of folks you just couldn't find.

Among Colson's reading this summer are Rodney Stark’s The Victory of Reason, Ellen Vaughn's Time Peace, and the classic from Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov. The latter is a favorite of mine and one I promised Matt Troutman just last night that I was going to re-read so we could discuss it together. Any other takers out there...like you, Quint?

At any rate, those three titles are just getting the Breakpoint bunch started. Here's a bit more from Mr. Colson:

But my selections aren’t all we have. Our team of bloggers at
The Point, BreakPoint’s weblog, have been posting about their favorite books for a couple of weeks now, and from those conversations we’ve compiled a list of books that really has something for everyone.

Eleven different bloggers contributed more than sixty books to this list. Some are centuries old; others were just published in the past couple of years. There’s even a book or two in there by yours truly. And we’re not even finished yet: Our bloggers will be reading and discussing books from this list all summer long, so keep stopping by The Point to learn more.

Reading together is one of the healthiest things for a family and these suggestions are designed to make it easier for you to do just that. So make sure to take a look at our website as well as our blog to get some great reading ideas...

So, here you go. Over here is the official 2007 Summer Reading List. And over here is a related item from Gina Dalfonzo, one of the Breakpoint staff who operates the Point blog, about their Blog-a-Book feature.

Neat stuff from a great group of saints. I'm sure you'll enjoy reading through these articles and I hope you'll then join in the fun.
